Dr. Amit Sharma MD is a board-certified interventional spine and pain management physician with more than two decades of experience treating complex spinal, musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain. His practice focuses on minimally invasive and endoscopic spine procedures designed to relieve pain, restore function, and help patients return to active lives with less reliance on long-term medications or major surgery.
Dr. Sharma currently serves as Chief of the Division of Pain Management at Good Samaritan University Hospital and is the Founder of SpinePain Solutions, a comprehensive interventional spine center in New York. He is also Medical Director of the Minimally Invasive Center of New York.

Training and Academic Appointments
Dr. Sharma completed his residency training in anesthesiology at Columbia University, where he was named Best Resident of the Year. He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training in interventional pain medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, earning Pfizer’s Best Fellow of the Year award.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Sharma served as Assistant Professor at Columbia University, contributing to medical education and academic research before transitioning to full-time clinical practice.
Clinical Philosophy
Dr. Sharma’s approach to pain management emphasizes precision diagnosis, evidence-based treatments, and individualized care. He believes that effective pain treatment should address the underlying pain generator whenever possible, using the least invasive approach appropriate for each patient.
In addition to advanced interventional techniques, he supports a multidisciplinary model of care and frequently incorporates non-surgical treatments such as physical therapy, rehabilitation, and complementary modalities when clinically appropriate.
