Vertebral Augmentation
Vertebral augmentation is a minimally invasive surgical procedure to stabilize a fractured bone of spinal column (vertebra). These procedures involve injecting bone cement inside the fractured vertebra, with the goals of stabilizing the fracture and reducing the patient’s pain. There are few different types of these procedures:
-
Vertebroplasty (VP)
-
Kyphoplasty or Balloon Kyphoplasty (BKP)
-
Radiofrequency targeted vertebral augmentation (RF-TVA)
